Pure Fashion Show & Cool Cousins

April 27, 2009

Hey everybody! Wow, this past weekend has been really hectic but super exciting! On Saturday we flew to Kansas City where we were greeted by some amazing people. That night we went out to dinner with the super models of the Pure Fashion Show. They were beautiful girls both inside and out. The Pure Fashion Show was on Sunday afternoon and it went really well. The girls modeled some really cool clothes including some beautiful prom dresses. They totally looked like princesses! We feel so blessed to have been a part of that show and looking forward to the next Pure Fashion Show this weekend in Denver.

Last night, after the show was through, we boarded a plane that took us straight to Denver, CO. We are going to be here for about a week and are excited to chill with our cool cousins! Actually today we went and saw the Hannah Montana Movie with them. We had alot of laughs and my cousins agreed with me that the boy in it is super cute!

Hope you all have a very blessed week!

Oh when I get home (back to Virginia) I am going to post some pics from the Pure Fashion Shows. You will get a chance to see how much fun we’ve had being part of them!

Perhaps the “sweetest” song I’ve ever heard.

April 21, 2009

I’m home in Virginia! The beauty of the Shenandoah valley never ceases to amaze me. Although the city lights can be enchanting, nothing steals the heart of a dreamer like a sky where you can really see the stars. Keith Urban’s song “Sweet Thing” ushered me into my small town life which I missed so much. I have a feeling that his new album will be part of the Miller summer soundtrack. Check out a little bit of the lyric!

When i picked you up for our first date baby
Well, your pretty blue eyes, they were drivin’ me crazy
And the tiny little thought that was so amazing
Is they were lookin at me.

I held open the car door for you then you climbed
Inside and slid on over
To the other side.. i thought my, oh my..

Sweet thing
The moon is high and the night is young
Come on and meet me
In the backyard under the cottonwood tree
It’s a good thing and i’m wishin
C’mon sweet thing
Won’t you climb on out of your window
While the world is sleepin
Cause you know i need you
And there’s no way i’ll be leavin
Til we’re kissing on the porch swing
Oh my little sweet thing

Megan isn’t a baby anymore!

April 21, 2009

So this past weekend was super fun! Joey, Tina, and Marie were all home and it was great having the whole family together again. Marie’s birthday was on April 9th so we had a little party for her on Saturday. It was exciting! My baby sister, Megan, had so much fun with all the balloons. It was pretty cute.

So I say my baby sister but Megan isn’t really a baby anymore. Everything about her has grown! I really love little babies but it’s interesting to see Megan transition from the baby in the family to just part of the family. When we used to watch movies with Megan, she would constantly be fussing or making some sort of unwanted noise! Lately, she’s being acting a little more chill. I like to watch High School Musical 3 with her because she loves the music. Whenever parts come on without music, Megan looks at me with the “I am bored and waiting for music” face! So when music suddenly starts, her face lights up, she stands up, starts dancing, and claps in total excitement. Haha, it’s really cute!!

Tonight I have a piano lesson. My teacher and I have been working on the songs that we are going to perform at the Pure Fashion Shows. Marie, Carol Lynn, and I are really excited to be a part of the Kansas and Denver Pure Fashion Shows! The lucky thing is that we get to spend about week in Denver. We have some family out there and we are really excited to hang out with our super cool cousins, Ella, Veronica, and Miriam. We love you girls!!

A joyful Easter, flannel shirts, and sister time!

April 16, 2009

Hey everyone!! Wow, my past week as been really amazing! Easter Sunday was a beautiful time of joy, hope, and family. God is so good!

On Monday, Carol Lynn, Michelle, and I went to go see the Hannah Montana Movie with some friends. I have never been a huge fan of Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus but the movie was actually really good! In the movie, Hannah Montana returns to her small/country hometown in Tennessee where she discovers what’s really important in life. Once the movie finished, I wanted nothing more but to buy a farm truck, go to a barn dance, and to enjoy some hush puppies and sweet ice tea! Oh and to have a sweet country boy who wears flannel shirts take me horse back riding! haha, Oh yes.

I can’t wait for tomorrow because Marie and Tina (my oldest sister) are coming home!! It will be so nice to have some sister time. Also this weekend one of our friends is getting married. I love weddings!

I hope you all have a very blessed weekend! Happy Easter!

Looking Forward to Pure Fashion!

April 7, 2009

I am spending my last few days in Nashville looking forward to three Pure Fashion shows! In the next month or so the girls and I are performing at Pure Fashion in Kansas City, Denver, and Sacramento. Pure Fashion is a great group that promotes beauty and modesty. How cool is that! Check out Pure Fashion on the web and come to a show!

Blessings,

Marie

Here’s a pic from a fashion show. Pure Fashion takes beautiful girls like you and teaches them how to be runway models!

Rey Swimwear- cute swimsuits for the summer!

April 1, 2009

Hey girls! Summer will be here soon!! We can start looking for cute swimsuits! Actually, I’ve been looking online at reyswimwear.com. The cool thing about Rey Swimwear is the swimsuits look vintage. Jessica Rey, who designs the swimsuits, says that she gets most of her inspiration from Audrey Hepburn. Jessica explains that the idea for her suits came about when she started to feel half-naked wearing a bikini and then it hit her- she actually was half-naked! It’s really cool because the suits are stylish but don’t make you feel as Jessica puts it, “half-naked”.  You should totally check them out!

Here are a few examples of Jessica Rey’s swimsuits.
